The swift-moving Hurricane Nate, still a Category 1, is rolling toward a midnight landing Saturday along the Gulf Coast, the National Hurricane Center said. Residents from southeast Louisiana to Florida are scrambling to prepare for high winds and life-threatening storm surge.
