New software continuously scrambles code to foil cyber attacks

New code-scrambling software developed at Columbia University sets a deadline on malicious hackers, effectively closing the window of opportunity for so-called code-reuse attacks. The technique is described in a study presented earlier this month at the USENIX Symposium on Operating Systems and Design (OSDI) in Savannah, Ga.
