Start watching for meteors this weekend, and watch through early August, while the moon is out of the way between midnight and dawn, and the Perseids are gearing up. Watch for Delta Aquariid meteors These meteors are the reason it's fun to begin watching in late July. The Delta Aquarid shower is long and rambling and overlaps with the Perseids. Where's the moon? Waning crescent Amirul Syazani in Malaysia caught earthshine on this morning's waning crescent moon. Did you see it from the Americas? Not likely, especially as the line of moonrise, and sunrise, edge farther west today.
