Senate Republicans approved a sweeping tax overhaul early Wednesday, setting the table for the House to vote on the bill and send the $1.5 trillion legislation to President Trump for his signature. The House had passed the bill Tuesday afternoon, but the Senate parliamentarian ruled three small provisions in the bill violated Senate rules and had to be removed, requiring the House to come back and vote again on the revised package. The votes will provide Republicans in Congress their biggest legislative victory of the year and will meet Trump's demand that a tax overhaul be completed by Christmas.
