Breaking: House passes final tax cut bill; the Senate will follow quickly and Trump will likely sign it into law this week

  The House passed the most significant overhaul of the tax code in three decades Tuesday afternoon with no Democratic support, putting Republicans on the verge of notching their first major legislative win and delivering a $1.5 trillion package to President Trump before Christmas, as he requested. The Senate is expected to follow suit promptly, and Trump may be able to sign the bill into law as early as Wednesday. Since most of the provisions of the bill take effect in January, it it will take a while before most taxpayers see a benefit in their tax returns.
