Across the country, Americans experience the reality of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) every day. They wake up with the security and peace of mind that comes with affordable health coverage. They can visit the doctor and get free preventive care to stay healthy. They don't have to worry about being denied coverage for a pre-existing condition, or being charged more just for being a woman.
But if you've picked up a newspaper or glanced at Facebook or Twitter over the past few months, you may have read stories about the ACA and the threat of repeal. What often gets lost in the rhetoric around repeal is the story of everyday Americans whose lives and livelihoods depend on the law.
At 1 p.m. ET today, Secretary Burwell will deliver remarks at the National Press Club highlighting how the ACA has improved access, quality and affordability and outlining the consequences of undoing the progress that's been made to cover more people and improve health coverage no matter where you get it.
We'll bring her speech to you live on HHS.gov, Facebook and Periscope (via @HHSGov). Feel free to tweet about the speech and about what the ACA has meant in your life using #CoverageMatters.
