Recently underwater eastbound Highway 37 back open in Novato
 
The westbound direction — which usually takes the worst of the spillover from the over-saturated marshes that line the highway and are supposed to act as a drain under drier circumstances — remained closed Wednesday night as crews worked to suck up the stubborn water, officials said.
