Economy Regional gross disposable household income (GDHI): 1997 to 2015 In 2015 England was the only country with a gross disposable household income (GDHI) per head above the UK average but the strongest growth on 2014 was in Wales, at 3.3%.Of the NUTS1 regions in 2015, London had the highest GDHI per head where, on average, each person had £25,293 available to spend or save. Northern Ireland had the lowest at £15,913. This compares with a UK average of £19,106.GDHI per head of population increased in all NUTS1 regions. The largest percentage increase was in the North East at 3.9% and the smallest was in the West Midlands at 2.0%. People, population and community Cancer registration statistics, England: 2015 The number of new diagnosed cases of cancer in England continues to rise and in 2015 there were almost 300,000 cancers registered – an equivalent to 822 per day. Breast (15.4%), prostate (13.4%), lung (12.5%) and colorectal (11.6%) cancer continue to account for over half of the malignant cancer registrations in England for all ages combined. More cancers were registered in males (153,061) than females (146,862). Across the majority of cancer sites more males are diagnosed with cancer than females. This is a persistent feature of the data, reported in previous registration years. |
