CDC's MMWR is proud to launch a new podcast series, titled "Defining Moments in MMWR History." This series highlights the leading role that MMWR has played in reporting historic public health events. The first podcast "Defining Moments in MMWR History – E. coli O157:H7" takes a close look at the deadly multistate Escherichia coli O157:H7 foodborne outbreak of 1993. During this outbreak, four children died, and approximately 700 persons in four states became ill with severe and often bloody diarrhea.
