BREAKING: Hurricane Irma now tied for second-fiercest Atlantic storm on record, packing 185 mph winds

  The weather system, already classified as Category 5, is now measured as being the second-strongest Atlantic hurricane on record, the National Hurricane Center said. Only Allen (1980), which had winds of 190 mph was stronger. Wilma, Gilbert, the 1935 Labor Day storm and now Irma have hit 185 mph.
