18-02-2018 09:55 PM CET The next meeting of the Committee on Development will take place on Monday, 19 February and Tuesday, 20 February. Highlights include a hearing on 'Education and training: using EU aid to support youth' Monday afternoon (see below) and an exchange of views with the new head of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Under-Secretary Achim Steiner (Tuesday afternoon). His presentation and the discussion will focus on the reform of the UN Development System to deliver on the 2030 Agenda and the EU's role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. On Tuesday morning the Committee will vote on the report of Charles Goerens on debt sustainability, and on ending the fisheries agreement with the Comores, the mid-term review on external financing programmes, conflict minerals and the EU's commercial policy. The meeting will take place in Brussels, Paul Henri Spaak building, room PHS 5B001 and will be webstreamed live.
