USDoE - Friday is #ReadWhereYouAre Day -- spread the word!

US Dept. of Education

Hi Friend --

There are a number of things that scream summer: swimming pools, sunscreen, popsicles…and reading!

If reading isn't already on your list of favorite summer activities, it should be. Studies show that students who don't read over the summer break fall behind their classmates, and that reading over the summer makes a difference during the school year. When students keeping reading, they keep learning, stay sharp, and are more prepared when the new school year begins.

This Friday is Read Where You Are day -- our annual call to action that encourages everyone to read more outside of school. Participating is easy! All you need to do is snap a picture of yourself at your favorite reading spot and use the hashtag #ReadWhereYouAre.

Join us and help get the word out by sharing this with your friends on Facebook or Twitter!
