It's October, and you know what that means: Today is the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
You're probably going to start seeing a lot of pink ribbons around—and that's good! Each pink ribbon is a symbol of solidarity with the millions of women and families who are impacted by breast cancer.
But don't let all the pink let you think our job is done—we still desperately need to raise awareness about this destructive disease.

Raising awareness is critical in our fight against breast cancer. The more you know, the more you can do to help the mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends in your life. Encourage them to talk to their doctor, schedule their recommended screenings, and do everything they can to reduce their risk of breast cancer.
