Cutting tax breaks for over 65s could save $1bn a year

Among the top stories on our website this morning is a report showing the federal government could shrink its budget deficit by a billion dollars a year by cracking down on unduly generous tax breaks for over 65s. The Grattan Institute report says cracking down on over-generous concessions would mainly affect seniors who do not receive a pension.
