BREAKING: Northern California drought finally over after 5 years

  The recent onslaught of rain and snow has ended the punishing drought in northern California, federal officials said Thursday. And for the first time since early 2013, less than 60% of the state is in a drought, according to the weekly U.S. Drought Monitor. At the same time a year ago, drought covered 97% of the state.
