Star predicted to explode in 2022
If and when 2 stars in this binary system merge - as predicted - they'll increase in brightness 10 thousandfold, temporarily becoming a bright star in Earth's sky.

NASA announces 2 new asteroid missions

NASA's new Lucy mission will tour 6 Trojan asteroids in Jupiter's orbit. The other mission will go to 16 Psyche, a metal asteroid.

Our sun moves around the center of the galaxy, toward the star Vega. Astronomers call this motion the apex of the sun's way. One circuit - about 230 million years - is called a cosmic year.
Star of the week: Rigel
Blue-white Rigel, in the constellation Orion, is one of the brightest stars in the night sky. It's about twice as hot, and 40,000 times brighter, than our sun.
