Happy 114th birthday to the National Wildlife Refuge System! Founded in 1903 by President Theodore Roosevelt, the system now includes more than 560 national wildlife refuges across the country. With at least one national wildlife refuge in every state and a refuge within an hour's drive of most major cities, there's no reason you shouldn't explore America's best kept secret.
