Economy The "shopping baskets" of items used in compiling the various measures of consumer price inflation are reviewed each year. Some items are taken out of the baskets and some are brought in to make sure the measures are up to date and representative of consumer spending patterns. On 21 March 2017, a range of changes will be implemented for consumer price inflation statistics, centring around the Consumer Prices Index including owner occupiers' housing costs (CPIH) being put first in our statistical release. There were 4,850 marriages between same sex couples in 2014; marriages of same sex couples have only been possible since 29 March 2014.
