Data Journalism Intern Scheme We've launched a new internship in data journalism as part of our ongoing investment in skills to meet the challenge of providing richer and faster statistics to inform the UK's decision-makers and public. Working in partnership with media outlets including the BBC, Press Association, the Telegraph and Trinity Mirror group, the scheme provides an opportunity for six successful candidates to develop their expertise in data journalism. Our managing editor, Darren Waters, blogs about the internship on our National Statistical blog. The opening of the Data Science Campus was a big milestone for us last week. The Campus will act as a hub and incubator for data science, collaborating with organisations across the UK and internationally on data science for public good. The launch, of course, is just the beginning. Having a high-skilled workforce in Data Science across government is one of ONS' Data Science Campus commitments to ensure we can better inform policy-makers with informative analyses based on traditional and innovative data sources. Find out how we are building data analytical skills locally in the UK and Internationally in our blog post. We made some changes to last week's Economic Well-being release. Tell us what you think of our new style Economic well-being bulletin in our short survey: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/8PC93DZ |
