Business, industry and trade Retail Sales in Great Britain: Mar 2017 The 3 months to March shows a decrease of 1.4%; the third consecutive decrease for the underlying 3 month on 3 month pattern. Looking at the quarterly movement, the 3 months to March 2017 (Quarter 1) is the first quarterly decline since 2013 (Quarter 4). In March 2017, the quantity bought in the retail industry is estimated to have increased by 1.7% compared with March 2016 and decreased by 1.8% compared with February 2017; decreases are seen across the four main store types. People, population and community Personal well-being in the UK: Jan to Dec 2016 No change in personal well-being ratings for the UK overall between years ending December 2015 and 2016. Anxiety ratings increased slightly in England but fell in Northern Ireland between years ending December 2015 and 2016. Overseas travel and tourism, monthly provisional results: Feb 2017 Overseas residents made 2.3 million visits to the UK in February 2017, the same as in February 2016. UK residents made 4.2 million visits abroad in February 2017; this has decreased by 2% when compared with February 2016.
