Mail from the U.S. Department of the Interior

Did you know: The Interior Department manages a vast array of infrastructure projects across the country? From roads and bridges to dams and transmission lines, infrastructure maintained by Interior help build a strong American economy.

These projects help millions of visitors experience our national treasures, provide water and energy to people in the West, and support American jobs. For example, the Hoover Dam provides water to 23 million people in the southwestern United States while its power plant provides power to 1.2 million people. And the Blue Ridge Parkway attracts visitors from all over the world, helping the local economy. Last year, more than 15 million people enjoyed this park, spending over $979 million in nearby communities.
