15 scenic rivers to add to your bucket list

Mail from the U.S. Department of the Interior

America's rivers have long served as workhorses supporting the exploration, transportation systems, and industrial and agricultural development of our nation. In 1968 Congress passed the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act to ensure that some of our most cherished river segments are conserved in their natural, untamed state for us and for future generations, and next year marks the 50th anniversary of this landmark act.

With 208 river segments in 40 states, the Wild and Scenic Rivers system contains America's best free-flowing waterways -- from icy trout-filled brooks to rushing whitewater kayak runs. Whether you want to hike, fish, canoe, camp or just relax along the bank, there's a river for you. Explore a sampling of some of America's beautiful and diverse Wild and Scenic Rivers.

What are you waiting for? Plan a trip to #FindYourWay on a river!
