Survey captures global picture of air pollutions effects on birds

The effects of air pollution on human health and ecosystems are well known, but little is known about how air pollution affects birds. In a paper published in the journal Environmental Research Letters, NSF-funded researchers sort through nearly 70 years of scientific literature to assess the state of knowledge about how air pollution directly affects the health, well-being, reproductive success and diversity of birds.
