People generally overestimate their risk of being a victim of crime

People in England and Wales greatly overestimate their risk of being robbed, ONS analysis shows. Despite falling levels of overall crime since a peak in 1995, most people believe that it is increasing.

Who is most at risk of suicide?

When someone takes their own life, the death is registered and we have a record of who they were, as well as where, when and how they died. These figures tell us that men, divorced people and people who live in less well-off areas are at greater risk of suicide. But these facts only tell part of the story.
