Jones, who gained traction after allegations arose against Moore for allegedly groping or pursuing multiple women when they were teenagers and he was in his 30s, defeated his Republican opponent Tuesday in Alabama's special Senate election, AP reported. Jones' victory signals a huge blow for President Trump and Republicans, who now hold a slimmer 51-49 Senate majority. The Alabama race - where a Republican win is normally a foregone conclusion - had also been seen as a referendum on Trump, who endorsed the Christian conservative despite the allegations against him.
