Authorities in Iran have warned of crackdowns on spreading protests over economic problems. Police have dispersed 50 people in Tehran after 52 arrests a day earlier in Mashhad, a city hit by bank failures.
South Korea confirms it has seized tanker suspected of delivering oil to North Korea
Authorities in Seoul say they are holding a ship alleged to have illegally transferred oil to a North Korean ship. UN sanctions prohibit such actions. Washington has accused China of undermining the sanctions.
Egypt: Gunmen launch deadly attack on Coptic church
At least 10 people have been killed in the attack, including two police officers who tried to stop the men. Islamist militants have increasingly targeted the Coptic Christian community, carrying out attacks on churches.
