Internal and external dimensions of migration policy: committee debate

The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs will go over the Commission contribution to the EU Leaders' thematic debate regarding the way forward on the external and internal dimension of migration policy, on 08.01.18. It will also discuss the Document of the Holy See's Migrants and Refugees Section "Responding to refugees and migrants: Twenty action points for the Global Compacts", in the framework of the UN Global Compacts on refugees for safe, orderly and regular migration.




Fundamental and human rights, counter-terrorism policies: committee debates

The Special Committee on Terrorism will discuss fundamental rights and human rights issues, focusing on the full respect of fundamental rights in policies concerning the fight against terrorism. The meeting will take place on 08.01.18, together with the Director of the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights, Michael O'Flaherty, and with Jacques Toubon, Défenseur des Droits in France.




Meetings with Bulgarian Presidency representatives: in committees

Parliament's committees will meet representatives of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union to discuss its priorities in relation to the committees' respective areas of responsibility. These meetings will start taking place during the week of 08.01.18. The Bulgarian Presidency started in the beginning of January and runs until the end of June 2018.
