Summary – Mayon volcano in Albay Province (Bicol region) is demonstrating low level activity and the Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has issued a level 3 alert warning that a hazardous eruption is possible within day or weeks; a "state of calamity" has been declared in Albay province and local residents have been evacuated; if you're planning on travelling to the region you should monitor developments through the institute and follow the advice of the local authorities. An eruption may cause disruption to flights and you should check with your airline before travelling
