Highlights - Delegation of Committee on Budgets to travel to Ireland - Committee on Budgets 06-02-2018 03:54 PM CET A four-member BUDG delegation, chaired by MEP Paul Rübig (EPP), will travel to Dublin from 12 to 14 February to learn about the concrete use of various EU programmes in Ireland and to assess the quality of implementation and effectiveness of EU financial support on the ground. Members will hold official meetings with Irish Ministers and the Irish parliamentary committee on Budgetary Oversight, and meet local stakeholders to discuss how smart and inclusive growth can be promoted even more effectively through the EU budget as well as the next Multiannual Financial Framework. The delegation will also cover a wide variety of EU interventions in Ireland, ranging from EU support for research and innovation through Horizon 2020, EIB-funded transport projects, second-chance education projects funded through the European Social Fund and the Youth Employment Initiative, and EU support for local SME development.
