An image of a woman taken by pioneering Ghanaian photographer James Barnor
Pioneering Ghanaian photographer James Barnor, now 87, set up a studio in Accra before moving to London in the 60s. Working as a photojournalist, he helped put black women on the cover of British magazines during a career spanning more than 60 years. His documentary work recorded fashion in Ghana as the country marched towards independence. The October Gallery in London is exhibiting his work until 30 September
