Macrophage nanosponges could keep sepsis in check

Researchers at the University of California, San Diego, have developed macrophage "nanosponges" -- nanoparticles cloaked in the cell membranes of macrophages -- that can safely remove sepsis-causing molecules from the bloodstream.
