New study refutes how fruit flies developed their tolerance for alcohol

Scientists at the University of Chicago, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Wisconsin-Madison conducted experiments investigating whether a molecular change in an enzyme gave the Drosophila melanogaster fruit fly species its superior ability to metabolize alcohol.
