National Hunting and Fishing Day is September 23

Mail from the U.S. Department of the Interior

September 23 is National Hunting and Fishing Day -- a day that celebrates outdoor sports and how they contribute to conservation. It's also the perfect day for sportsmen and women to pass down a family tradition, enjoy the outdoors, and mentor future generations of hunters, anglers and conservationists.

America's public lands are some of the best places for hunting and fishing, and no one knows them better than the men and women who work and play on them. Check out some of the favorite hunting and fishing memories from Interior employees. We hope they inspire you to hunt and fish on your public lands this fall!
