Coming up in committees 04-12-2017 06:29 PM CET Energy Union governance: committee vote ENVI - ITRE - 04-12-2017 - 18:28 The legislative report on governance of the Energy Union will be voted on jointly by the Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, on 07.12.17. The proposed regulation aims to achieve a governance mechanism for implementing the Union's 2030 climate and energy targets, and for reporting to the secretariats of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) and of the Paris Agreement. To this end, the Agency would be entrusted to provide technical solutions to ensure interoperability between large-scale IT systems, and develop and manage future large-scale IT systems. The aim is to assess the threat posed by the DPRK's nuclear and ballistic missile build-up and the possible consequences for the global non-proliferation regime. The different options for the EU and international community to prevent further escalation of the crisis will also be looked into. The Committee will also look into a recent study by the Centre for Industrial Studies, on Public Private Partnerships and Cohesion Policy. A debate with Regional Policy Commissioner, Corina Crețu, will be held on the same day.
