Those priorities include the preparation of the future CAP after 2020, the debate on the next Multiannual Financial Framework, the current market conditions in a number of sectors, the need to reinforce farmers' position in the food supply chain, the preparation of trilogues on the Integrated Farm Statistics and Medicated Feed files, as well as the international bilateral and multilateral trade negotiations affecting agriculture Source : © European Union, 2018 - EP 24-01-2018 11:43 AM CET Janusz Wojciechowski, Member of Chamber I of the European Court of Auditors (ECA), presented to AGRI Members the findings of an ECA Special Report on Rural Development Programming (23 January). The report examines whether the objective of the EU strategic framework for 2014-2020 to focus more on results was actually achieved. It makes some recommendations in order to improve the next programming process. Source : © European Union, 2018 - EP 24-01-2018 11:42 AM CET Members held a first exchange of views on an own initiative report on the Communication on "The Future of Food and Farming" on 23 January, for which Herbert Dorfmann (PPE, IT) is rapporteur. The Communication outlines the main elements of the future CAP and thus the rationale for a well-funded policy based on significant share of the EU budget.
