Centralised system on conviction information, fundamental rights: committee votes

The legislative report on establishing a centralised system for the identification of Member States holding conviction information on third country nationals and stateless persons (TCN) will be voted by the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs on 25.01.18, together with the mandate for inter-institutional negotiations and the composition of Parliament's negotiating team. The Committee will also vote on the annual report on the situation of fundamental rights in the EU.

The Development Committee will discuss the mid-term review and the future post-2020 architecture for the EU's external funding instruments, on 24.01.18. It will then go over the mandate for negotiating a post-2020 partnership with African, Caribbean and Pacific countries together with Commissioner Mimica, on 25.01.18. Other issues that will be looked into include: ending a fisheries agreement with the Comoros, budget support, the EU aid for trade Strategy and the World Social Protection Report.




EU administrative law: public consultation on citizens' expectations

EU law establishes citizens' rights to an open, independent and efficient EU administration. The Committee on Legal Affairs has therefore launched a 12-week consultation process in December 2017, to determine what the public expects regarding its relations with the EU's administration. To this end, individuals, companies, professors, universities and any other institution interested in taking part in the consultation can complete a questionnaire which is available through the link below.
