Coming up in committees 13-03-2018 06:22 PM CET Emission measurements investigation follow up: committee debate ENVI - 12-03-2018 - 19:00 The Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety will go over the recommendations of the Committee of Inquiry on Emission Measurements in the Automotive Sector (EMIS), with Commissioner Bieńkowska, on 14.03.18. The Environment Committee, being responsible for one of the two pieces of legislation investigated by EMIS (type approval of light passenger and commercial motor vehicles), is also responsible for a substantial part of the follow-up to the EMIS recommendations. It will also look into its proposed guidelines for the 2019 EU budget. All debates will take place during Parliament's plenary sitting of 13.03.18. The day after, it will vote on the report tabled jointly by the Employment Committee and the Committee on Culture and Education on a decision regarding a common framework for the provision of better services for skills and qualifications, aiming to modernise Europass tools. Further information Plenary agenda, March 2018 Fact Sheet on employment policy European Citizens Initiative: committee debate AFCO - 13-03-2018 - 18:22 The Committee on Constitutional Affairs will look into the draft report on the new legislative proposal for the European Citizens' Initiative (ECI), on 21.03.18. The report aims to, amongst others, provide more flexibility and support to the organisers of an ECI, oblige the Commission to deliver a detailed analysis and justification should it refuse to register an initiative, enhance the political follow-up by the Commission of successful initiatives, and enhance the transparency of ECI funding. It will also go over a recent study on waste management in Europe, which focuses on main problems and best practices. The meeting will take place on 21.03.18. The workshop will allow for a discussion with experts on the budgetary aspects of the Commission's package for completing Europe's Economic and Monetary Union.
