The debates will seek to tackle the issues that are still at stake to ensure that the rights of victims are properly safeguarded. They will also address current loopholes in various areas of EU legislation, including in terms of cross-border situations, access to justice and adequate support, awareness raising, and appropriate coordination at EU level. Further information TERR hearing programme Brexit and future trade relations: public hearing INTA - 14-03-2018 - 19:04 The Committee on International Trade will hold a public hearing with experts on the future EU-UK trade relations, on 21.03.18. The discussions will focus on the economic impact of the UK withdrawal on mutual trade and its wider implications, including the effects on EU trade agreements with third countries and options for transition periods after the exit date. Related issues of, amongst others, market access, rules of origin, customs union and dispute settlement, will also be looked into. 2016 Discharge reports: committee votes on budget implementation CONT - 16-03-2018 - 09:20 The Committee on Budgetary Control will vote on the draft reports concerning the implementation of the budget by the European Development Fund, the European Parliament, the Agencies, the Joint Undertakings and Other Institutions, during the financial year 2016. A total 1575 amendments were tabled to these draft reports and 44 opinions were given by other committees. The meeting will take place on 19-20.03.18. Digital Single Market Working Group: 15th meeting IMCO - 16-03-2018 - 09:20 The Digital Single Market Working Group of the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection will hold its 15th meeting on 19.03.18, to look into the fight against the fake-news phenomenon in order to have a Digital Single Market based on trust. The discussion is expected to focus on how reliable sources of information are key to a well-functioning Digital Single Market and how misinformation or fake-news have direct effects on consumer behavior. UN Commission on the Status of Women: committee mission to 62nd session FEMM - 16-03-2018 - 09:20 A delegation of the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality will participate to the 62nd session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women in New York, from 19.03 to 21.03.18. The priority theme of the session will deal with challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls, while the review theme focuses on participation in and access of women to the media, and information and communications technologies. Encounters between science and management in fisheries: public hearing PECH - 14-03-2018 - 19:04 The Committee on Fisheries will hold a public hearing on encounters between science and management in fisheries, focusing on the fixation of Total Allowable Catches (TACs) on fish stocks. The regular TACs setting process, from the requests for scientific advice to the final Council decisions, will be looked into together with representatives of scientific bodies, stakeholders and the non-governmental organisations.
