Protection of workers carcinogens or mutagens at work: committee vote

Carcinogens and mutagens
The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs will vote on its report on the proposed Directive amending existing legislation on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to carcinogens or mutagens at work. Amongst other things, the rapporteur considers it necessary and urgent to act at European level in order to reduce workers' exposure to diesel engine exhaust. The meeting will take place on 27.03.18.




Media freedom, preventing terrorism, drugs control, EPPO candidate: committee votes

The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs will vote on its non-legislative report regarding media pluralism and media freedom in the EU, on 27.03.18. It will also vote on its report on the Council of Europe Convention on the prevention of terrorism, and on seven reports on subjecting new psychoactive substances to controls. Parliament's candidate to the panel implementing enhanced cooperation on the establishment of the European Public Prosecutor's Office will also be voted on.




Subsidiarity annual reports, work-life balance: committee votes

The Committee on Legal Affairs will vote on the report on the 2015-2016 annual reports on subsidiarity and proportionality on 27.03.18. It will also vote on its opinion regarding the proposed directive on work-life balance for parents and carers. This proposal is part of a package of measures, which aims to address women's under-representation in employment and to support their career progression by enabling them to reconcile their professional and personal responsibilities.




Cohesion Policy report, sustainable transport: committee votes

The Committee on Regional Development will vote on its report regarding the European Commission's 7th report on strengthening economic, social and territorial cohesion in the EU. It will also vote on its report regarding the thematic objective of promoting sustainable transport and removing bottlenecks in key network infrastructures. The meeting will take place on 27.03.18. A debate with Regional Policy Commissioner Corina Crețu will be held on the same day.




Women's rights: committee debate with Commissioner Jourová

The Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality will go over the main topics related to women's rights that fall under the portfolio of Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality Commissioner Jourová, on 27.03.18. The discussions are expected to focus on, amongst others, the new action plan on tackling the gender pay gap, and the situation of the work-life balance package.
