Empowering women and girls in media and ICT: inter-parliamentary committee meeting

On the occasion of the International Women's Day, the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality will hold an inter-parliamentary committee meeting on empowering women and girls in media and ICT, on 08.03.18. The meeting will provide a forum for exchange of best practices amongst EU institutional representatives, members of EU national parliaments, experts and stakeholders, focusing on the considerable potential that both media and ICT have in the promotion of women's empowerment.




EU budget 2019 guidelines: committee vote

The Committee on Budgetary Control will vote on the amendments tabled to the draft guidelines for the 2019 EU budget as prepared by the general rapporteur, Daniele Viotti (S&D, IT), on 08.03.18. The report, as adopted in Committee, is then scheduled to be voted on by the entire Parliament during its Strasbourg plenary session of March. Once adopted by the entire Parliament, these guidelines are to be reflected in the Commission's presentation of its draft budget for 2019.




Europol: committee debate with Executive Director

The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs will hold a debate with Europol Executive Director, Rob Wainwright, on 08.03.18. Europol became a full EU agency in January 2010. It then became officially the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation in May 2017. The mandate of the current executive director, who was appointed in 2009, ends on 30.04.18.
