Marine Plastic Pollution: How did we get here and what can we do about it?

Plastic pollution is undoubtedly one of the biggest environmental issues we face at the moment. Plastic has only been in our lives for around seventy years, so how did we get to where we are, what went wrong? More importantly, what can we do about it? In this presentation David will explore these questions in a sometimes disturbing and visually stimulating way.

He was also the Executive Adviser to the film 'A Plastic Ocean' as well as one of the cameramen and the diving supervisor for the underwater work in the film. He has spoken at numerous high profile events, including the World Ocean Summit in Bali and the International Ocean Forum in South Korea. He is curently undertaking a MSc in coastal and Marine Resource Management at University of Portsmouth.
