Northern U.S. meteor dazzles thousands

Early Monday morning, thousands in the northern U.S. watched a brilliant meteor streak across the sky. It then plunged into Lake Michigan.

The February 9, 1913 meteors crossed the sky in formation, on nearly identical and even "stately" paths.

Will you see Comet 45P at its closest?

Northern U.S. meteor dazzles thousands

Bright green meteor caught early Monday morning by a Lisle, Illinois police car dash cam. It was just one of the 467 reports (and counting…) received so far by the American Meteor Society. More videos here.
