Mixed reactions in space community to immigration executive order

Caleb Henry — Global in-flight connectivity provider Panasonic Avionics of California is the subject of a U.S. corruption and securities probe, parent company Panasonic Corp. of Japan disclosed Feb. 2.

Finnish company raising funds for astronaut training competition

Debra Werner  Cohu Experience, a Finnish startup aimed at encouraging public participation in the burgeoning commercial space industry, has raised more than 2.2 million Euros in a crowdfunding campaign launched Feb. 2 for the Space Nation Astronaut Training Program, including one million Euros pledged in the first 43 minutes for the smartphones application for citizen astronauts.

Launch woes diminish demand for small satellites

Jeff Foust —Iridium announced Jan. 31 it has purchased an additional Falcon 9 launch from SpaceX that the satellite services company will share with a German-U.S. Earth science mission.

Hyten: U.S. must deter Chinese aggression in space
