Celebrate Earth Day with NASA Science Data and Standards-Aligned Lessons

Earth Day, the day set aside each year to celebrate our planet and bring attention to the natural world, is on April 22, 2017. NASA is participating by inviting people to "adopt" a portion of Earth's surface and see a snapshot of the satellite data scientists use to study Earth.

It's all part of the agency's "Adopt the Planet" campaign. And as education specialist Ota Lutz explains in the latest Teachable Moment from NASA/JPL Education, educators can use the campaign as a jumping-off point for lessons in reading data visualizations, graphing Earth science data and more.
