Planning a national park adventure? Add these locations to your trip

Our National Parks are America's crown jewels -- offering spectacular views and amazing adventures. Next door to some of the country's most visited canyons, waterfalls, and mountain peaks are lesser-known natural gems. From Red Cliffs National Conservation Area to J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, public lands nearby parks are a great way to avoid the crowds, while still getting to experience all that nature has to offer.

If you're one of the many planning a trip to a national park -- whether it's National Park Week or this summer -- consider pairing it with a visit to a neighboring public land.
