The farther south you are on Earth's globe, the better view you'll have of the moon and Mercury at Tuesday's dawn.

2017's closest supermoon is May 25

For the 1st time since 2009, a new moon - not a full moon - will be the closest and largest supermoon of a year.

At Tuesday's dawn … Will you see the moon and Mercury?

A waning moon appears closer to the sunrise each day. In the past few mornings, the moon shifted down past Venus. It'll be near Mercury Tuesday morning.
