Every year, millions of acres across the country are burned by wildfires. To protect people, property, and wilderness, dedicated men and women at Interior and the Forest Service take on the difficult and dangerous job of fighting these destructive fires. While we will never be able to prevent every fire everywhere, we can make landscapes more resilient to withstand and recover from the impacts of wildfire.
