In this report Surveillance of Vaccination Coverage Among Adult Populations — United States, 2015 Walter W. Williams, MD; Peng-Jun Lu, MD, PhD; Alissa O'Halloran, MSPH; et al.
Vaccinations are recommended throughout a person's lifetime to prevent vaccine-preventable diseases and their sequelae. However, adult vaccination coverage remains low for most routinely recommended vaccines. In February 2016, the first comprehensive report of adult vaccination coverage that included assessment of associations with expanded data on demographic and access to care characteristics of respondents was released. This report updates these vaccination coverage estimates. The findings in this report can be used by public health practitioners, adult vaccination providers, and the general public to better understand factors that contribute to low vaccination rates and to modify strategies and interventions to improve vaccination coverage.
