BREAKING: Leonardo da Vinci's 'Salvator Mundi' painting sold for record $450 million at New York auction

  Da Vinci's painting, which dates from around 1500, depicts Christ holding a crystal orb, called "Salvator Mundi" or "Savior of the World." The artwork is one of the few paintings by da Vinci that is known to exist, according to Christie's, the auction house conducting the sale.
