Dark Energy Survey reveals stellar streams adding stars to the Milky Way 01/12/2018 12:23 PM EST The NSF-supported Dark Energy Survey has released an enormous new data set, one that includes measurements of more than 400 million stars. From that data, astronomers have found evidence for 11 previously unknown stellar streams, each feeding stars into the Milky Way galaxy.
